Northern Ireland, 1969. Buddy is the 9-year-old boy from Belfast living in the cozy house with mother, the elder brother William, the grandfather and the grandmother. The amicable family adheres to Protestantism and regularly visits the local church headed by the pastor manipulator who is skillfully changing mood of the flock. The boy goes to usual school, goes out with the friends and learns delights of the first love for the beautiful schoolmate.

In August in the city street riots begin: the group of aggressive Protestants attacks city Catholics, forcing them to defend and create actively barricades for protection of the dwellings. Suddenly there comes the father of Pa who took a vacation to visit beloved relatives. He faces the criminal leader Klenton and refuses to fulfill his requirements, receiving threats to the family. The man thinks of moving to Australia, but cannot overpersuade the stubborn wife. Meanwhile, the conflict of different currents of Christianity continues to develop that will soon develop into the real chaos.
