A fourteen-year-old boy named Billy Batson often ran away from his own guardians, hoping to find his own mother, who abandoned her son many years ago. The boy believes that his mother had reasons to do so. The orphan who made another escape was sent to a new foster family by the staff of the social protection service. During the first day of his stay at the educational institution, the teenager got into a conflict with school bullies who disliked the newcomer.
Running away from a group of offenders, the main character accidentally ran into an elderly magician who decided to give him his amazing abilities. Now Bill can, by pronouncing the magic word "Shazam", turn into an adult superhero, ready to come to the rescue of any person who finds himself in a difficult situation. Curious Batson, having received superpowers, begins to experiment with them, trying to improve the skills of using them, so as not to harm others. Every day Billy improves his skills, although sometimes he does not do it very well. The young man does not even realize yet that very soon his capabilities will be needed to confront representatives of the forces of evil who dream of taking over the Earth.
