Two thousand years ago, the Roman commander Mark Antony, as a sign of his eternal devotion, presented three eggs decorated with precious stones to the Egyptian queen Cleopatra on her wedding day. Over time, eggs are lost; two of them are found by a farmer in 1907, but the last one is considered lost.

In 2021, John Hartley, an FBI criminal profiler, is assigned to help Interpol agent Urvashi Das in investigating the possible theft of one of the eggs exhibited at the National Museum of the Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome. The head of the security service refutes the fears of law enforcement agencies, but Hartley discovers that the exhibit is a fake, and the original egg has been stolen. Before the doors of the hall are blocked, the international art thief Nolan Booth manages to escape with the trophy. Arriving with the egg at his house in Bali, he discovers Hartley, Das and the Interpol assault squad there. They arrest Booth and take the treasure into custody. Unbeknownst to everyone, Booth's main competitor, the thief Sarah "Rook" Black, disguised as one of the members of the capture group, replaces the real egg with another fake. The next day, Das confronts Hartley and puts him in a gloomy Russian prison in the same cell with Booth, believing that he is also responsible for the theft.

Shortly after arriving, Black offers Booth to find the third egg together, because he knows about its location. Booth rejects her offer, so Hartley suggests they work together to help put Black in jail: in this case, Booth will become the number one thief in the world. The couple escapes from prison and heads to Valencia to steal the second egg, which is from the famous arms dealer Sotto Voce, who is hosting a masquerade ball. There they see Black, who is also going to steal an egg. The three of them arrive at the vaults on Tuesday, where Hartley and Booth are fighting Black. Voce arrives with her guards, and Black makes it clear that she is working with Voce. Black tortures Hartley with electricity until Booth agrees to reveal the location of the third egg. Black tricks Voche around his finger and leaves for Egypt, where, according to Booth, the egg is hidden. After leaving Valencia, Booth informs Hartley that the egg is actually in Argentina, and the coordinates of this place were engraved on his late father's favorite watch, which once belonged to Rudolf Zeich, Adolf Hitler's personal art curator.
