From the first minutes, the film introduces the viewer to the Blom family. The family consists of two children: a girl and a boy named Johannes. And the father of the children is trying to make ends meet in order to feed his children. Johannes' father works as a schoolteacher, who do not have such large salaries. But everyone in the family doesn't even think about it, they want to look to the future and enjoy life, which their mother did during her lifetime. One day little Johannes comes down to the kitchen and discovers a little man named Viplala. It turns out that the little man turns out to be a wizard. Johannes introduces his whole family to little Viplala. The little man makes the whole family the same height as himself. However, he cannot bring them back to their previous size. Now everyone's task is to find someone who can disenchant them and return them to their former growth.
